Weight Watchers’® member Emma talks about her weight loss journey
Today, the lovely Emma is here to tell us about how playing Weight Watchers took her on a journey towards weight loss success. Emma, who took part in the Do It Our Way (Play) video for Weight Watchers, has lost over 2 and a half stone to become a yummy mummy! Let’s hear from her now.
The thing that made me join Weight Watchers was seeing a photo of myself at my sisters BBQ. In my mind I thought I was skinnier than I was, but in reality I was 12 and a half stone. I had to keep wearing the same clothes to cover up, and whilst I tried to fall back on the excuse of having two children, I decided I wanted to get my body back.
My previous crash diets had bought a little success (I lost half a stone through cutting out sweets and crisps) but it all went back on soon after. My mum had some success at Weight Watchers, but she thought the ProPoints plan wouldn’t work for me. That was enough to make me decide to give it everything I had! I treated joining Weight Watchers as a lifestyle change, rather than a means to an end, or a way to get a goal. With that mind frame, I found it so easy to sustain and it made sense; have one chocolate not ten!
I really enjoyed my Weight Watchers meetings and my Leader inspired and motivated me throughout my weight loss journey. The whole meeting was a little team and we all relied on each other at some point; even if just for sharing new recipes and tips. If I don’t make it to a meeting, I miss it!
For me, Weight Watchers gave me my life back and a new found confidence. I can now walk into any room and talk to people when before I would have hid. Plus, I enjoy clothes shopping again! All in all, I am now the person I was before I had kids, and upcoming events like my sister’s wedding, where I will be a bridesmaid, don’t feel like a daunting day of public attention, but a celebration where I am going to look my best.
